500-505 Clinical Ophthalmology II
Counts toward 32-credit-hour graduation requirement.
Surgery Core Rotation and one month clinical elective. Minimum number of students required for elective to be offered-1. Maximum number of students admitted to elective-1. Offered each quarter.
A one-month elective in clinical ophthalmology is offered to those students who have already completed a one-month elective at Ben Taub or VA Hospitals. The rotation involves exposure to a variety of patients with emphasis on anterior segment surgery, oculoplastic surgery, and ocular oncology. The student also has some exposure to ophthalmic pathology and has an opportunity to attend weekly grand rounds and other conferences within the department.
