500-504 Clinical Ophthalmology
Counts toward 32-credit-hour graduation requirement.
Ophthalmology, surgery Core Rotation or Instructor's Approval. Offered each quarter.
Students are assigned to the affiliated services at either Ben Taub General Hospital or the Veterans Affairs' Medical Center to learn techniques of ophthalmic history-taking and examination, and to participate in the evaluation and management of patients with ophthalmic diseases. Students are required to attend departmental conferences in pathology, fluorescein angiography, grand rounds and are encouraged to attend other scheduled lectures and conferences.
