Clinical Appointments:

Dr. Swaim received her undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of Massachusetts. She earned her medical degree with distinction from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and then completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Swaim then became a member of the full time faculty in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UT Houston for six years, followed by 12 years as a partner at Houston Women’s Care Associates at the Woman’s Hospital of Texas.

Dr. Swaim has presented posters and lectures at national scientific meetings, and published research in peer-reviewed journals. She is a section officer for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists, and is a past president of the Houston Gynecologic and Obstetric Society. Dr. Swaim is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is an oral board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Swaim’s interests include intrapartum obstetrics, patient education, gynecologic surgery, and intrapartum fetal evaluation.
