Dr. Tung attended Baylor College of Medicine where she received her MD degree and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology. She then received subspecialty training in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She also obtained her MPH degree from the University of Texas School of Public Health.
Dr. Tung is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. Her clinical goal is to provide the best care possible to women diagnosed with gynecologic malignancies while educating and mentoring students and residents about the complex surgeries and treatment of this specialized group of patients. Dr. Tung also provides a variety of surgical options for patients, including minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery. Given her training in public health and population-based initiatives, her research interests include cancer prevention in women’s health as well as cancer survivorship and health outcomes research.
Most of her free time is spent with her husband, Shayan, and 2 young children, Ariana and Lela. She also enjoys running, swimming, and traveling.
