At the Baylor College of Medicine he has worked on the genetics and molecular biology of murine and human reproduction and the expression of retrogenes in ovarian cancer. He currently also has an appointment at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine, Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he pursues an interests in rapid pathogen detection, the role of retrogene mutations in human infertility and the relationship between variations in the promoter region of the Matrix MetalloProteinase 1 gene and the development of pelvic organ prolapse in women.

Dr. Jan Rohozinski is a native of Adelaide, South Australia. He graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Honors) degree and subsequently worked on hepatic physiology, pyrophosphate metabolism in wheat grains and sugar cane viruses. Dr. Rohozinski received a Ph.D. in molecular plant virology from the University of Adelaide. He has worked in the field of plant virology in Nebraska, Canberra (Australia), Iowa and Idaho and medical virology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
