Dr. Susan Raine matriculated at Baylor College of Medicine where she earned her M.D. and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2005, she joined the faculty as an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and has a secondary appointment in the center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy. As an undergraduate, Dr. Raine received a B.A. in International Studies at Austin College in Sherman, Texas and subsequently pursued her law degree at the University Of Texas School Of Law in Austin, Texas becoming a member of the State Bar of Texas in 1995. She received her LL.M. in Health Law at the University Of Houston School Of Law in the Spring of 2010.

Dr. Raine received her board certification from the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 2008. Her professional memberships include The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, The Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Houston Gynecological and Obstetrical Society, Harris County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association. In addition, Dr. Raine maintains an inactive status with the Texas Bar Association.

After serving several years as an Assistant Residency Program Director, Dr. Raine was named Residency Program Director in July 2010 overseeing the administration of our 48-resident, 4-year program. She maintains her primary practice at Texas Children's Hospital Pavilion for Women. She spends a portion of her time working in the Harris Health System at both Ben Taub Hospital and People’s Health Center providing resident training and supervision.

Her academic interests include health law and policy, simulation training, ans web-based education. Dr. Raine's clinical interest include minimally invasive surgery, particularly robotic surgery. She also offers in-office procedures including hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation and sterilization using Essure micro-inserts.
