Dr. Gregorio Riera received his medical degree from Universidad de Carabobo, Valencia, Venezuela. While in medical school Dr. Riera was awarded the Best Medical School Student in 1995 and 1998. He graduated from medical school in 2000 with Magna Cum Laude Honors and ranked in the top of his class. He completed his residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in 2007 where he was the administrative chief resident. In 2006 he was recognized for CREOG Examination performance.
He joined the Baylor College of Medicine faculty in 2007 and currently maintains his practice at Harris Health System’s Casa de Amigo Health Center where he provides OB/GYN care for underserved patients. He also performs gynecology surgery and delivers obstetrical patients at Ben Taub Hospital.
He specializes in general obstetrics and gynecology, management of menstrual disorders including polycystic ovarian syndrome, fibroids, cervical dysplasia, laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, office-based procedures and pregnancy care. Dr. Riera is also fluent in Spanish.
His professional memberships include American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and American Society of Reproductive Medicine. His research interests include polycystic ovary syndrome and fibroid tumors.
