Dr. Ertug Kovanci earned his medical degree from Istanbul Medical School in 1992 and completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the same institution in 1996. He did a postdoctoral research fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine between 1997 and 2000. Dr. Kovanci then moved to Houston to repeat his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at Baylor College of Medicine between 2000 and 2003. He joined the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Division as a faculty in 2006 after finishing his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Baylor College of Medicine. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist.
His clinical interests include infertility, assisted reproductive technologies such as intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilization, fertility preservation in cancer patients, reproductive system surgery including DaVinci robotics assisted minimally invasive procedures, hormone replacement therapy, hypoactive sexual desire disorder and premature ovarian failure. Dr. Kovanci has authored or co-authored multiple scientific papers and presentations in these areas. He is committed to keep his patients’ desires in the center of their care.
