Dr. Matthew Anderson received both his M.D. and Ph.D. from Yale University. After completing his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale -New Haven Hospital, he pursued specialty training in gynecologic oncology at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Anderson focuses his clinical efforts on caring for women diagnosed with cancers of the female reproductive tract. He has developed a keen clinical interest in uterine leiomyosarcoma as well as other gynecologic sarcomas. A skilled laparoscopist, Dr. Anderson provides minimally invasive surgical options to his patients, including fertility-sparing procedures such as radical vaginal surgeries for early stage cervix cancers. Dr. Anderson also provides screening and surgical management for women at high risk for developing ovarian and other gynecologic cancers
Lastly, he also oversees one of the largest cervix cancer treatment programs in the southwestern United States. He is an active member of the gynecologic cancer committee for the Southwest Oncology Group and lead BCM investigator on multiple clinical trials investigating novel treatments for ovarian cancers, uterine cancer, and preinvasive cervical disease.
