A Note from the Program Director

Dr. Joseph S. Kass

Thank you for your interest in the Baylor College of Medicine Neurology Residency Program. We train the best neurologists in the country in a program with the flexibility to foster the growth of our residents into compassionate neurologists who can work in the clinical or research setting of their choice. Most of our graduates pursue fellowship training with many developing academic careers. We give residents great freedom to shape their own program and their own careers. Our residents train at a variety of clinical sites, ensuring that they have a broad exposure to the very large and complex field that is neurology.

Residents achieve their academic and clinical success in an atmosphere of friendship, cooperation, integrity, and personal camaraderie. Our faculty is dedicated to teaching and mentoring residents. Our residents enjoy working with each other and form lasting bonds well beyond residency training.

In summary, we offer our residents a great number of patients in diverse clinical settings. We support the clinical experience with an outstanding series of conferences and journal clubs that provide the basic science and clinical background necessary to understand neurological disease. We provide this training in an atmosphere that is education-focused, friendly, and conducive to learning both the art and science of neurological care.

Best wishes,

Joseph S. Kass, M.D., J.D.
