    After receiving his doctorate degree from Baylor, Dr. Esparza returned to Venezuela, where he eventually became chief of the Laboratory of Biology of Viruses and chair of the Center of Microbiology and Cell Biology at the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research in Caracas. In 1986 he joined the World Health Organization in Geneva. He served as leader of the biomedical research unit of the Global Program on AIDS (GPA), later becoming chief of the WHO/GPA Vaccine Development Unit. In 1996 he transitioned to the United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS as coordinator of its HIV Vaccine Initiative. Since 2004, he has been with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle, first as Senior Advisor on HIV vaccines and currently as Senior Advisor on vaccines.

    Dr. Jarvis was awarded the University of Wyoming’s highest faculty honor. He joined the faculty as an associate professor in 1998 and became a professor in 2000. He is internationally renowned for his work on using genetically engineered insect cells for manufacturing vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics for use in human and veterinary medicine

    Dr. Soule was honored for his tremendous influence in increasing global funding and research resulting in better treatments for patients with advanced prostate cancer. Dr. Soule is Executive Vice President and Chief Science Officer of the Prostate Cancer Foundation, a senior fellow of the Milken Institute, and a member of the Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program Integration Panel.
