Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics is to create an outstanding research and educational environment to support translational and preclinical research/education and to translate basic science discovery into new therapeutic interventions for human disease. Our departmental researchers use systems-wide, integrated physiological, biochemical, biophysical, and genetic approaches combined with specifically engineered mouse models and cutting edge technology to define the mechanisms of human disease.
