Neurofibromatosis Type 1 Topic of Next ECI Genetics Webinar
The next in the Genetics series of webinars is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Noon. The subject is “Genetics and Care for Children with Neurofibromatosis Type 1” presented by William Craigen, M.D., Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine and Laura Buckner, M.Ed., L.P.C., UT Texas Center for Disability Studies.

This webinar will discuss the features commonly seen in a child with neurofibromatosis (NF) Type 1 as well as current care and surveillance recommendations. In addition, a speaker with the Learning Community for Person Centered Practices will explain the concept of what's “important for” a person and what's “important to” the person. 

This webinar series is presented by ECI, the University of Texas Center for Disability Studies, Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital and the Department of State Health Services. Upcoming topics in the series are: Klinefelter Syndrome, and Prader-Willi and Williams Syndrome. 

ECI service providers including EISs, Social Workers and LPCs will be able to obtain CEUs from these events.  All webinars are available on the ECI archived webinar page under the “Genetics Series” section for those that are not able to participate in the live event. 

This nursing continuing professional development activity awards 1.0 contact hour. Texas Children’s Hospital is approved with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
