Clinical Molecular Genetics

Our DNA laboratory is one of the oldest academic diagnostic molecular laboratories in the United States. The laboratory has trained dozens of individuals in Clinical Molecular Genetics over the past 20 years. Rotations of two to three months are designed to provide education in a variety of molecular diagnostic techniques. The training schedule for Clinical Molecular Genetics and a block diagram with required educational conferences can be seen below.

The DNA Diagnostic Laboratory analyzes over 20,000 specimens annually and performs over 75 different diagnostic tests. The laboratory is separated into a general molecular laboratory and a mitochondrial/metabolic disease molecular diagnostic laboratory.

DNA Diagnostic Laboratory Director: Christine M. Eng, M.D.

Mitochondrial Laboratory Director: Lee-Jun C. Wong, Ph.D.

Mitochondrial Laboratory Medical Director: William J. Craigen, M.D., Ph.D.
