The Academic research committee serves as a resource for Baylor Internal Medicine residency to advocate for scholarly research. We work to develop resident's understanding and skills in conducting research with goals of presenting at local, regional and national conferences.

Evidence Base Medicine Curriculum
Our goal is to develop a curriculum that would provide a "toolbox" to help residents conduct research through a tutorial in basic statistics, resource on how to conduct literature reviews, and workshops on how to read research papers. 

Research Database
Our second goal is to identify active investigators at Baylor, MD Anderson, St. Luke/ Texas Heart Institute and the VA for each subspecialty.

Conference Workshop
Quarterly, we plan to host workshops to improve and refine poster presentation prior to local, regional and national conferences with hopes to win the best poster at each conference. 

Quarterly Journal Clubs
A newly establish goal for this year is to create a quarterly journal club to enhance resident's understanding of the important "landmark trails" and new original research have and may influence patient's care.
