St. Luke's Medical Center is a 900-bed private hospital, renowned for its excellence in diagnosis and treatment of gastroenterological disease. The hospital is staffed by both BCM and private physicians, and serves a local, national, and international referral population.

Ben Taub Hospital

Ben Taub Hospital, a 600-bed county hospital, is the major general medical and surgical hospital serving the disadvantaged of Houston and surrounding Harris County. The gastrointestinal clinical service provides in-patient and out-patient consultation to the entire hospital population including clinical, diagnostic and endoscopic procedures. Approximately 75 in-patient consultations are seen every month and approximately 90-100 out-patients are seen every week. Approximately 400 diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures are performed each month on in-patients and out-patients.

Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center

The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is a 1,000-bed facility with state-of-the-art equipment. The gastroenterology section offers world renowned clinical service. The consultative team, made up of students, residents, fellows and the attending gastroenterologist, act as consultants to the house staff for a wide variety of acute and chronic liver and gastrointestinal diseases. Many clinical studies in this patient population are being actively pursued.
