DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Ben Taub General Hospital and Baylor Clinic. As one of the largest sections in the Department of Medicine, we provide a significant service to the College through training medical students, residents, fellows, and other graduate students.

The Section of General Medicine is recognized nationally and internationally for its successful educational programs, innovative patient care, and clinical research. Research activities in area of General Internal Medicine also occur in the closely affiliated Section of Health Services Research in the Department of Medicine and Research Division of the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Research education includes federally funded Primary Care Research Fellowship.
