Department of Emergency Medicine

The PA fellowship curriculum mirrors the physician residency program. The fellows are integrated into both clinical and didactic portions of the EM physician resident training. PA Fellows will be incorporated in all lectures, workshops and skill labs required of physician residents.

Our goal is for fellows to be efficient in all areas of emergency medicine but our program emphasizes training in ultrasound, trauma, critical care, orthopedics, and toxicology.

Monthly quizzes and projects are assigned to help prepare the fellows for the CAQ exam, and to track progress and knowledge through the fellowship.

Fellows will work in all areas of the emergency department including acute care, urgent care, critical care, and trauma, and pediatrics. Fellows will gain more autonomy as they master skills and disease processes.

Fellows are evaluated periodically by the clinical competency committee and given feedback on their clinical and procedural competency.

Fellows are encouraged to complete an administrative or research project during their training.
