The Department of Education, Innovation and Technology is committed to creating a learning environment across Baylor College of Medicine that supports all intersectional identities by teaching and incorporating best practices in education to foster a culture that is just, diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible.
The department will operate throughout Baylor College of Medicine through this lens in a number of ways. We utilize holistic review for all of our hiring practices. We offer a number of educator development initiatives that either focus or involve creating equitable and accessible learning environments. Finally, the department will continue to grow in this space by establishing a committee focused on principles of JDEIA (justice, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility).

Fostering an Inclusive Learning Environment Professional Development Series - A faculty development series in the Department of Education, Innovation and Technology focused on applying educational strategies and skills to create inclusive, equitable, and accessible learning environments. This series will expand to include faculty throughout the college to provide a space for educators to become peer coaches in JDEIA topics in education.
Baylor College of Medicine Basic Educators Course - The Department of Education, Innovation and Technology is developing a course for all educators at Baylor College of Medicine through the lens of inclusive learning environments which includes content specifically on justice, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in education.
