Dear Members of the Baylor College of Medicine Community,
The numbers are looking good for COVID-19, and overall, things are going well, despite the headlines that seem to focus on the negative. I remain a little worried about a mini surge in the next couple of weeks due to Spring Break and spring holidays. I hope everyone continues to be careful, wear a mask and practice physical distancing.
In this week’s video, I continue to discuss vaccinations and variants. Vaccinations are going well. It is great news that the State of Texas is opening up vaccinations to all adults on Monday. As I have said before, it is a race to get more people vaccinated before the coronavirus variants take hold. AstraZeneca could have done a better job on its vaccine rollout, but I think additional review will provide the necessary approvals. The world needs this vaccine, as the variants are expanding in reach.
Have a great weekend. Stay safe, and I leave you with this nice story about our physician poet.
