Dear Members of the Baylor College of Medicine Community,
This week we received unbelievable data on vaccine trial results – very good news. There is light at the end of the tunnel but the tunnel is long. We will have vaccines.
In this week’s video, I review the vaccine results as well as explain how the epidemic is playing out in the United States. There always seems to be a down side as well, and this week we see that the country is in the middle of a horrible spike. The virus keeps finding places where people are not paying attention. Remember, the virus does not change – it is how we respond to it that matters.
I am still receiving questions about Thanksgiving and my advice remains the same – keep it to immediate family, no multi- household gathering, physically distance as much as possible, wear a mask and if possible, make it outdoors. Since next Thursday is a Baylor holiday and many people are taking Friday as a vacation day, my video message next week will post on Wednesday. I am planning to answer many of the questions I have received from you in the past few weeks.
Stay safe,
Paul Klotman, M.D.
