Spiration Pivotal Trial (EMPROVE) (H-32616)
Patients with emphysema typically have lungs that are too big for their chest. These big lungs put pressure on the diaphragm (main breathing muscle) and they do not allow it to move freely, making the patient short of breath. The aim of this study is to decrease the volume of the lungs by placing small one way valves inside the wind pipes. For more information see The Spiration Valve System for the Treatment of Severe Emphysema (SVS).
