The Role of Arginine and Nitric Oxide Metabolism in the Pathogenesis of Ketosis Prone Diabetes (H-31841)

Healthy volunteers aged 30 to 65 and volunteers diagnosed with type two diabetes within the last year, also aged 30 to 65, are needed for a metabolic study. We need you to help us investigate whether healthy volunteers and type two diabetics make an important compound called arginine in different amounts. Healthy volunteers should have no chronic medical conditions and all who reply should consume a diet adequate in calories and protein. Women must not be pregnant.

Your time commitment would be a one hour screening visit and three approximately 10 hour visits to the Children's Nutrition Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine. You will be compensated for your time.
