Hereditary High Risk Colorectal Cancer Panel
Test Information: The High Risk Hereditary Colorectal Cancer Panel uses next-generation sequencing and deletion/duplication analysis to simultaneously analyze selected genes associated with an increased risk for a wide range of cancers. Approximately 5 to 10 percent of all colorectal cancers are hereditary. In general, this test is used when a patient's medical history and family history findings strongly suggest that there is an underlying genetic etiology of colorectal cancer.
Test Details
Test Code: 9145
Special Notes: The panel includes exon by exon sequencing, indels and gross copy number analyses of 11 genes associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer.
Certain exons with no known gross deletion/duplication mutations may not be covered by deletion/duplication analysis.
A Hereditary GI/Colorectal Panel (#9180) is also available, which includes 18 genes associated with GI/Colorectal cancer.
