Oncology FISH Analysis - MET Amplification
Test Information: Indication for Study:

Determination of MET oncogene amplification. Increased MET gene copy number is an independent negative prognostic factor in NSCLC. Patients with MET amplification may response to MET inhibitors.
Test Details
Test Code: 8095
Special Notes: For FFPE Specimens: Specimens subject to this FISH testing should be fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin for at least 6 hours and no longer than 48 hours. The volume of formalin should be at least 10 times the volume of the specimen. Decalcification solutions with strong acids should not be used. Specimens fixed for less than 6 or longer than 48 hours may show false negative results.

Technical Limitations:

Results of this test must always be interpreted in the context of relevant clinical and pathological data, and should not be used alone for a diagnosis of malignancy.

For additional information on our FISH probes and the frequency and prognostic significance of specific chromosomal abnormalities, please visit the Cancer Fish Probes List.
