Published: Fridays by the Office of Communications and Community Outreach.
Newslink is sent through the all-BCM email distribution list. There is not an opt-out option.
Items in Newslink include Awards and Recognitions, Events, and College News and other categories as needed.
Deadline for the Friday issue is Wednesday at noon. Every effort will be made to include submissions submitted by noon on Wednesday in that week’s issue; however it may run in a later issue if it is not time sensitive.
Submit items by email to Dana Benson at benson@bcm.edu.
Items can be submitted by faculty, staff, and students and trainees. Items may be submitted on behalf of someone by a colleague, administrator, supervisor or department chair.
Photos may be submitted as well; however use of photos is at the discretion of the Newslink editor. Photos should be at least 72 dpi and at least 270 pixels wide.
All submissions are subjecting to editing by the Office of Communications and Community Outreach, which follows AP style and other established guidelines.

Student Commons

Submissions: Submissions may come from anyone related to the education mission as well as other administrative offices
Archive
Style: Short items (2-5 sentences) are included. If additional information is required it must be posted on either the Intra- or Internets and a link provided. Each item is categorized under a larger heading with a more targeted headline added directly before the item. AP style is used.
Process: Items are submitted to Laura Perry who collates them into one document. On Tuesday, these are submitted to Debra Passner for editing and addition of other content if needed. Draft is sent to Dr. Toi Harris and Laura Perry for review. Once approved, content is sent to Institutional Web Management for formatting and distribution. If Debra Passner is out, Lynn Foltin edits.

E-Rounds

Content

E-Rounds is a daily e-mail sent by the Office of Communications and Community Outreach to Baylor College of Medicine clinical employees, and is also archived online.
E-Rounds offers information about new faculty, clinical operations, patient services, web and online resources, awards and honors, college news, fundraisers and community involvement, discounts and perks, and employee benefits.
Submissions for E-Rounds may be sent to Lori Williams or Dana Benson; subject to editing.
E-Rounds follows AP and College style.

BCM Family

Content

BCM Family is published monthly (around the first of the month) by the Office of Communications and Community Outreach.
Story ideas are developed by the Office of Communications, or ideas may be submitted by faculty, staff and trainees to Dana Benson at benson@bcm.edu.
All BCM Family stories should include a photo(s). Photos must be at least 72 dpi.
BCM Family stories are longer in length than Newslink and include faculty, staff and student and trainee profiles, event coverage, articles on College initiatives and programs, etc. Regular features include Student Corner and Spotlight (staff only).
BCM Family can be found online. An email is sent through the all-Baylor distribution each month linking to the new issue.
BCM Family stories follow AP and Baylor guidelines.

From the Labs

Content

From the Labs is published all year long, twice a week, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays, by the Office of Communications and Community Outreach. It spotlights a selection of the newest and most interesting research information from the bench at Baylor College of Medicine.
The posts are intended for a lay audience with a basic science background, and include images. From the Labs posts The Image of the Month featuring a scientific image from one of the labs at the College.
From the Labs follows AP and Baylor guidelines.
From the Labs has a Twitter account to promote its posts and other basic science-related Baylor materials.
Interested readers can receive From the Labs in their inbox by subscribing. There are two ways to receive it: Receive posts as they are published; Receive one email a month listing the links to all the posts of the previous month.

Digital Monitors

Image must be 16X9 inches or 1920X1080 pixels.
Please limit text information on flyer to no more than 3-4 sentences.
Information should include, date, time and location of event.
All text must be large enough to read (14+ font size).
Font: Gotham.
When submitting flyer, please allow 2-3 business days for flyer to be posted.
Monitors are updated 1-2 times a week.
