National Diversity and Inclusion Week 2019

Diversity and Inclusion Week is an annual celebration of diversity, inclusion and equity at Baylor. The week features exhibits, speakers, interactive activities, service projects and other activities. Baylor will celebrate National Diversity and Inclusion Week 2019 with a particular focus on immigration.

Friday, Sept. 27: National Diversity and Inclusion Week Kick-off Ice Cream Social (hosted by the Association of Graduate Student Diversity and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences) from 4-5:30 p.m in Alkek Lobby, Main Baylor.

Tuesday, Oct. 1: Sunnyside National Night Out/Health Fair (sponsored by the Student National Medical Association) from 6-9 p.m. at Sunnyside Park, 3502 Bellfort St., Houston TX 77051. See more information.

Wednesday, Oct. 2: A Compassionate Conversation: Immigration Care in the First Person featuring Drs. Fernando Stein and Karla Fredericks from noon-1 p.m. in Cullen Auditorium, Main Baylor.

Thursday, Oct. 3: Refugee Experience: Trauma, Resilience and Recovery featuring book authors Drs. Sophie Banu, Jeffrey Kottler and Suni Jani. Panel discussion from 5-6 p.m. in Cullen Auditorium, Main Baylor followed by a social hour from 6-7 p.m. in Rayzor Lounge.

Friday, Oct. 11: Ethical Conflicts in the Care of Immigrants featuring Drs. Amy McGuire (moderator), Fernando Stein, Karla Fredericks, and Elizabeth Chiao from noon-1 p.m. in Howland Auditorium, second floor, Children's Nutrition Research Center (CNRC) *No food or drink is allowed in the auditorium*
