Hispanic Heritage Month 2021
National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated each Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, provides an opportunity to recognize the contributions made and the important presence of Hispanic and Latinx Americans to the United States and celebrate their heritage and culture.
Baylor College of Medicine will mark Hispanic Heritage Month with a number of activities and highlight Hispanic trailblazers in medicine and science on our social media.
2021 Observation Events
The following events take place in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in 2021:
Oct. 14 from 12-1 p.m.: In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Dr. David Acosta, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Association of American Medical Colleges, will be presenting “Latinx Identity and the Power of Latinx Leadership.” This virtual event is open to the entire Baylor community. Sept. 29 - Oct. 1: The Hispanic Health Coalition (Houston) will be hosting the 6th Latino Health Summit - Building Toward Latino Health Equity. The Latino Health Summit will feature leading health experts who will discuss the significant impact of social determinants of health on Latinos and other vulnerable populations. The cost to attend is $25 and will be presented using the Whova virtual conference platform. Register here.
