DeBakey Heart Center of BCM Benefits from Partnership Event
Event cochairs Sidney Faust and Cora Sue Mach celebrate a night of fundraising with Jim Pearson, president of The Partnership for Baylor College of Medicine. The Partnership for Baylor College of Medicine raised more than $580,000 for The DeBakey Heart Center and the Human Genome Sequencing Center at its March 4 cabaret event. Proceeds from "Let Us Entertain You... Shades of the 21 Club, the Copa, the Stork Club..." will support the revolutionary collaborative research on heart disease taking place in the two BCM centers. Guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner and entertainment by tribute artists Barbra and Frank in The Concert that Never Was, presented in a retro nightclub setting at Hotel ZaZa. Sidney and Don Faust and Cora Sue and Harry Mach chaired the evening, which honored BCM benefactor Margaret Alkek Williams. The Smith Foundation matched all funds raised by The Partnership, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Pink Ribbon House 2010 raised $400,000, the largest gross to date for this project to support breast cancer research at the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine. More than 1,400 people visited the custom home in Hunters Creek.
