CORE D: INTEGRATED MICROSCOPY CORE
The Integrated Microscopy Core (IMC) has as its mission to provide up-to-date light and electron microscopy hardware and technical expertise that enables researchers involved in the Center for Reproductive Biological Research to perform both routine morphological examination of cells and tissues, and sophisticated "molecular morphology" approaches to biological problems. The IMC will directly provide services for routine processing and sectioning of cells and tissues for brightfield and electron microscopy. In addition, the IMC personnel will directly work with Center Grant users to develop and interpret initial studies, train laboratory members in techniques and equipment usage, and assist in figure preparation for data presentation. The availability of IMC services to Center Grant researchers thus allows cost-effective use of extremely expensive and highly technical equipment, expert technical support, training, and quality control to meet the objectives of the individual projects.
