Where Does BCM Recycle?

The BCM Recycling Program depends on faculty and staff to prepare and deliver their recycling to designated collection centers, and on volunteers to collect and prepare aluminum and plastic recycling for our vendors. Personnel from Facility Services collect the paper and cardboard recycling.

The following are the currently serviced bin locations. See map.

Baylor Main Building (One Baylor Plaza; 713-798-4826)

There are approximately 40 paper/cardboard and 5 aluminum/plastic blue collection bins within BCM Main. Bins are labeled for paper/cardboard, aluminum cans or plastic bottles. Recycling must be sorted. Unsorted recycling goes to the landfill.

Anderson Building (corridor G)

  • Paper/cardboard bins: basement and subbasement
  • Industrial paper shredder in subbasement (call 713-798-6448 to use)
    Alkek Building (corridor N)
  • Paper/cardboard bins: by elevator, basement, and floors 2-16
  • Plastic & aluminum bins: between Alkek and DeBakey elevators in basement

Ben Taub Research Center (corridor G)

  • Paper/cardboard bins: by elevator, floors 2-9

Cullen Building (corridors A and E)

  • Paper/cardboard bins: by Credit Union in basement
  • Plastic & aluminum bins: Lubys and near A101

Jewish Institute for Medical Research (corridor D)

  • Paper/cardboard bins: by elevator, basement, and floors 1-9
  • Plastic & Aluminum Collection Center: 531D M-F, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
    Sorted plastic and aluminum recycling can be delivered to 531D. Plastic bags, labels and other supplies are available. Contact phone: x 8-2221

Margaret Alkek Biomedical Research Building (corridor R)

  • Plastic & aluminum bins: in walkway from Cullen, 1st floor

Michael E. DeBakey Center (corridor M)

  • Paper/cardboard bins: by elevator, floors 2-7
  • Plastic & aluminum bins: 3rd floor near the Coffee Corner, and in the basement between DeBakey and Alkek elevators

Smith Research Wing (corridor S)

  • Paper/cardboard bins: outside near entrance into BCM from Garage 6

Baylor Clinic (6620 Main; 713-798-1545)

  • Paper/cardboard bins: by loading dock elevator, all floors
  • Plastic & aluminum bins: by loading dock elevator, all floors

Medical Towers (Baylor Faculty Center; 1709 Dryden; 713-798-1545)

  • BCM Recycling Collection Center near loading dock
    Bins for paper, cardboard, plastic and aluminum
    Hours M-F, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    Access 7 days per week, 7 a.m. – 11 p.m., for high use clients.

McGovern Campus (Nabisco; 2450 Holcombe; 713-798-4951)

  • Paper/cardboard bins: by loading dock

McNair Campus (7200 Cambridge; 713-798-8090)

  • Paper/cardboard bins: by loading dock elevator, all floors
