The Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral
Sciences administrative offices and psychiatry clinic are now in their new location in the Medical Building of the McNair Campus, 1977 Butler Blvd., Suite E4.400.
The mission of the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of Baylor College of Medicine is threefold: 1. to provide compassionate, safe and effective care of people with psychiatric and co-occurring disorders; 2. to educate students, physicians, mental health professionals, and the general public in psychiatry and the behavioral sciences; and 3. to conduct innovative and relevant research into the understanding and treatment of people with psychiatric disorders, and into the prevention of these conditions.
We believe that psychiatry is an integral part of medicine; that it is a brain-based specialty that encompasses biological, psychological, social, interpersonal and spiritual parameters; and that it is most effective when practiced in an evidence-based manner, involving interdisciplinary academic collaboration and expertise.
