National mentors also participate in an advisory role. Each of the five mentor families have specific areas of focus and meet dependent upon group consensus.

TRPMMN Educational Programs: TRPMMN has supported the development and implementation of cultural competence education (CCE) in a variety of domains: didactics for medical students, psychiatry and pediatric residents and mental health professionals. CCE has been conducted in numerous venues and in association with national and international organizations including the All Healers Mental Health Alliance, the American Psychiatric Association, the Association for Academic Psychiatry, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Black Psychiatrists of American, and the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions.

TRPMMN Mental Health Outreach Projects: TRPMMN members have developed and participated in numerous community outreach programs. The various mental health screenings have occurred in homeless shelters, community settings and within communities of faith to increase access and reduce stigma in underserved populations.
