Academic Background and Distinctions:
After completing his training as Chief Resident for Baylor's psychiatry residency program, Dr. Burruss joined the faculty in 1999. He has been one of the clinical attendings at the Ben Taub General Hospital since, working in the emergency room, the inpatient unit, and the outpatient clinic. He has also gone on to assume the title of Chief of Psychiatry for Ben Taub. Additionally, Dr. Burruss is the medical director of the Trauma & Grief Program at Baylor, a coordinated response to those who have experienced the catastrophic loss of a loved one.
