Academic Background and Distinctions:

Linda B. Andrews, M.D. is currently the Associate Director of Residency Education in Psychiatry and the Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education at Baylor College of Medicine. She has served on the Baylor Faculty since 1993 and has received numerous teaching including recently receiving the prestigious Barbara and Corbin J. Robertson Jr. Presidential Award for Excellence in Education in May, 2007. She coordinates and teaches the PGY II Empathy Seminar and the PGY III and IV seminars on Leadership and Teaching Residents to Teach. Dr. Andrews had served on the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) Part I Testwriting Committee, is a reviewer for Academic Psychiatry, and has been an active participant in the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training (AADPRT). She has recently been elected to serve on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ADGME) Institutional Review Committee (IRC). She completed her undergraduate education at Duke University, receiving a B.S. degree in Psychology magna cum laude. She received her medical education from the University of Oklahoma in 1989, having been elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her residency education in Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in 1993, serving as chief resident for 1992-93.
