Eser Yuksel, M.D., is an associate professor in the plastic surgery division of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He is also on faculty at Rice University, where he was named adjunct assistant professor in the department of bioengineering for the 2005-2006 academic year.

Dr. Yuksel specializes in aesthetic surgery, including breast reduction, breast lift, breast augmentation, mid-face suspension, lip suspension, facelift, rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and blepharoplasty. He also specializes in microsurgery and reconstructive surgery, including breast reconstruction and ear reconstruction. In addition, he performs body-contouring procedures, including liposuction and abdominoplasty, and facial contouring and rejuvenation procedures such as fat grafting and botox injections.

Dr. Yuksel was recently recognized for designing an innovative breast surgery known as dermal suspension that offers improved shaping and reduced visible scars, providing an attractive alternative to currently applied surgical approaches.

He has also been recognized for his use of a lip-enhancement technique – known as lip suspension – that helps patients achieve fuller, more youthful lips. The procedure offers advantages over injections alone, including better long-term results.

Dr. Yuksel graduated from Hacettepe University Medical School in Ankara, Turkey, completing his residency there in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He completed fellowship training in plastic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and a fellowship in cosmetic and maxillofacial surgery at the Onep-Plastic Surgery Science Institute in Istanbul.

Dr. Yuksel is a member of the European Association of Plastic Surgery. He is board certified by the Higher Education Council in Turkey, where he has an associate professorship in Plastic Surgery.

Over the years, Dr. Yuksel has been awarded dozens of research grants totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars. He has authored over 40 medical pieces and is a sought-after speaker around the world on topics related to plastic surgery. He has worked in collaboration with Rice University on tissue engineering for soft tissue regeneration in breast reconstruction models.

Dr. Yuksel's professional memberships include the Plastic Surgery Research Council, Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Heart Association, Tissue Engineering Society, International Confederation of Plastic and Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, European Association of Plastic Surgery, and the Turkish Society of Plastic Surgeons, among many others.
