Shayan A. Izaddoost, M.D., Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Izaddoost's main focus is in enhancement of the breasts, rejuvenation of the face, and redefinition of body contour. In addition, Dr. Izaddoost has special interest in breast reconstruction, helping patients recapture what they lost to breast cancer.
Utilizing a patient-centered approach, Dr. Izaddoost optimizes his patients' physical and emotional healing by providing compassionate care during the entirety of the surgical process. This philosophy allows his patients to be fully involved in their care and to build a long lasting patient-physician relationship.
Dr. Izaddoost actively serves the city of Houston and the community of Harris County as an attending physician and educator at Ben Taub General Hospital where he dedicates much of his time to specific training of future plastic surgeons. Dr. Izaddoost's service extends to care of children at Texas Children's Hospital where he performs reconstructive surgery for children suffering from trauma or cancer.
As part of his interest in breast cancer and breast reconstruction, Dr. Izaddoost serves as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology where he studies the effect of fat grafting on breast tumors and on breast tissue during its reconstructive stages.
Dr. Izaddoost is a well-published author and a busy researcher, serving as the principal investigator and co-investigator on numerous plastic surgery research projects. He is also a highly regarded educator, recognized frequently over the years for his outstanding teaching skills.
