Interviews

Once the application and letters of recommendation are received, you may be invited for an interview. Applicants who have interviewed with us will be ranked in the Match. Interviews generally begin in the early morning and last until late afternoon. The day consists of interviews with faculty and fellows, and if time permits conferences and tours of the facilities. The applicant will be taken to lunch by one or more of the current fellows.

The purpose of the interview is to permit the candidate to discuss the program and its philosophies with faculty. It also provides the candidate an opportunity to meet representative faculty and fellows at all levels of training. All interviews must be officially scheduled and confirmed with the program coordinator. All attempts are made to complete all interviews by end of October for purposes of creating the program's match list. Please notify in advance if there is a specific faculty member that you have a particular interest in meeting. Also, please inform the program if there are any personal issues (i.e. spouse employment, schools)that can be addressed during interview day.

Interview Arrangements

Candidates invited for an interview should call Patricia Salazar at 832-826-6208 to schedule the interview date. In general, candidates invited for an interview should plan to arrive the evening before the interview date and plan to leave Houston no earlier than 6 p.m. the day of the interview. At the time the interview is scheduled, candidates will receive recommendations for hotel accommodations, transportation from the airport, directions to the hospital, etc.
