Appointments

Outpatient care is provided at the renal and hypertension clinics at Texas Children's Hospital and Ben Taub General Hospital. Patients can be self-referred, but generally are referred by a primary care physician. Children up to age 18 are seen for a variety of renal-related diseases including:

• Proteinuria (protein in the urine)
• Hematuria (blood in the urine)
• Congenital renal disorders
• Renal tubular disorders
• Nephrotic syndromes
• Cystic diseases
• Hypertension
• Renal failure
• Urinary tract infections

Appointments for renal and hypertension clinics at Texas Children's may be made by calling 832-824-3800. Please have your insurance information available when you call. Renal clinics are held on Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning every week except holidays. The hypertension clinic is on Wednesday morning every week.

Appointments for renal and hypertension clinics at Ben Taub may be made by calling (713) 873-KIDS. Renal clinics are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, and Hypertension clinic is held the 4th Friday of each month.
