  • Improving community disaster management planning and triage for pediatric patients with special healthcare needs
  • Effective pediatric legislative and community child advocacy to improve preventive care, safety and access to healthcare.
  • Development and outcomes of International and Community Pediatric Public Health Outreach Programs.

Current Research & Funding:
  • Contributing investigator: for current protocol H-13061 entitled, "Domestic Violence Curriculum in a Pediatric Residency Training Program-Does it Change Screening Behaviors?"-part of BCM residency core curriculum teaching effective screening methods for domestic violence and how DV affects pediatric health outcomes
  • Principal Investigator: Baylor IRB Protocol H20428: "Muslims HealthyKids: Survey Planning Assesments of Healthcare Practices, Attitudes, and Barriers to Healthcare among Muslims Families in the Greater Houston Area" funded by American Academy of Pediatrics CATCH Planning Grant.
  • Principal Founder/Organizer: for Healthy Families Lecture Series: Child Public Health Education Lecture Series for the Greater Houston Area Muslim Community funded by Texas Children's Hospital Community Projects Grant.
