CMV Research Donations
A donation to Congenital CMV Research is truly an investment in a healthier future for you, your family, and generations to come. Cytomegalovirus or CMV is a virus that infects people of all ages, yet most people have never heard of it. Approximately 1 percent of all newborns are congenitally infected at birth with CMV. Congenitally infected newborns may be very ill at birth and suffer hearing and vision loss or developmental disabiltiies later in life. Our research focuses on the effects this virus has on newborn babies, as well as ways to treat and prevent congenital CMV infection and disease.
