The following events are offered to all BCM employees, students, faculty, residents, post docs, Alumni, friends and family.

"The Doctors Orchestra of Houston is pleased to announce its final concert for the 2006-7 season.  The Orchestra will perform three wonderful works, the joyous Brahms Academic Festival Orchestra, Dvorak’s elegant Cello Concerto, and the richly romantic second symphony of Rachmaninoff.  The concert will be at Wortham, Sunday, June 10, at 5 PM.  The cello soloist for the Dvorak Concerto will be Anthony Kitai of the Houston Symphony.  Tickets ($10 or $20) can be purchased at the door or online at www.doctorsorchestrahouston.org

The Doctors Orchestra of Houston is made up of members of the health science professions who work in and around the Texas Medical center, including physicians, residents, medical students, physician assistants, dentists, nurses and researchers.  For most members, music is a serious avocation, something to which they have been devoted for many years, generally at a very high level of achievement.  
The founder and conductor, Libi Lebel, is a well-known figure in Houston.  She is a graduate of Juilliard and holds a master’s degree in conducting from the Westminster Choir College and Princeton University.  

Part of the proceeds from every concert are donated to a charitable cause.  For this concert, the Good Neighbor Healthcare Center is the designated recipient.
