Laboratory of Diagnostic and Predictive Markers

The laboratory of diagnostic and predictive markers (LDPM) is one of the specialty laboratories at the Department of Pathology at Baylor College of Medicine. The lab provides both clinical and research services utilizing immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), multi-antibody multi-color immunostaining, breast prognostic markers, and other tests currently under development. The lab serves Baylor College of Medicine and associated facilities and also handles cases referred by pathologists, clinicians, and researchers from outside Baylor.

LDPM utilizes state of the art instruments and technologies, and is staffed by nationally recognized experts in the fields of diagnostic and prognostic/predictive markers including Mamoun Younes, M.D. (Lab Director), Gustavo Ayala, M.D. (Co-Director), Jon Reed, M.D., and Rodolfo Laucirica, M.D. Technical support is provided by dedicated experienced histotechnologists.
