Gastrointestinal Pathology Fellowship

Program(s): A two-year program combining research with diagnostic gastrointestinal pathology, including liver and pancreas. During the first year, the fellow will be engaged mostly in research, combining clinical with experimental approaches. Emphasis is placed upon pre-neoplastic and neoplatic lesions and biomarkers. In the second year, the fellow is expected to take responsibilities in the review and diagnosis of gastrointestinal pathology, including consultative activities, while continuing with the research started in the first year at a lower level of activity. During both years, the fellow is expected to attend, and participate in, various gastrointestinal conferences, participate in residents and medical student teaching, and present research in local and national meetings.

Requirements: Core training in anatomic pathology.

Stipends: Generally commensurate with the year of postgraduate training.
