Art Show
The art show is a fundraiser for the Arts in Medicine Program at TCH, from Aug. 18-22. Of the art sold, 30 percent of the winning auction price will be donated directly to this cause. The remaining 70 percent goes to the artist. However, look for green tags on pieces which the artist has decided to donate 100 percent of the auction price! The art is shown in the Alkek lobby – but there is also a lot of art on the 2nd floor just above the lobby. The show is run as a silent auction. Bidding will close promptly at 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 22. Once bidding is closed, if you have won a piece, GSC members will be available to receive payment and you can leave with the piece(s) you’ve won. However, if you cannot make it on Friday, you can pick up the art next week. We will contact all those who have won pieces who have not yet paid for/picked up art. When placing a bid, please be aware of the following minimum bid increments based on the piece’s current auction price: $1-50: $2 increment, $51-$100: $5 increment, $101+: $10 increment. We are also accepting art supplies to help support the Arts in Medicine Program at TCH. There will be a closing reception from 4 -5 p.m. Friday with light drinks and snacks.

Symposium Update
There is a new form for submitting your abstracts to the Graduate Student Symposium. The old form wasn't dealing with greek symbols properly, which caused some messy formatting errors. Note that if you are one of the six people who has already submitted, you must resubmit using the new format.
As for the rest of you slackers, get your submissions in by Aug. 1. All the details are on the GSRS page.
