Biography

John V. Marymont, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle disorders. He is an associate professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and chief of the Foot and Ankle Section.

After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University, Dr. Marymont earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Tennessee. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Dr. Marymont completed his sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he worked with the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland State University, John Carroll University and the Cleveland Ballet. He was a staff orthopedic surgeon at Evanston Hospital in Chicago and a clinical instructor in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern Medical School before moving to Boston. In Boston, he completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the New England Baptist Hospital, an affiliate of the Tufts University School of Medicine.

Dr. Marymont is actively involved in teaching and research. He has published numerous articles relating to sports medicine, and to the foot and ankle.

His professional memberships include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the Harris County Medical Society.
