Requirements for Acceptance to Training Program
M.D. degree, graduate from an approved Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program, completed Fellowship Application, letter of reference from the Residency Program Director, a Texas Medical License, and CPR certification. See Fellowships for list of required documents.

Specialty
Orthopedic Surgery-Sports Medicine: Diagnosis of injuries and disorders. Open surgical procedures and operative arthroscopy.
Physical Plant
Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospital System: St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, Kirby Surgical Center, Harris County Hospital System, and Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Roger Clemens Institute for Sports Medicine and Human Performance.
Ancillary Activity
Fellows are expected to attend designated practices and games of appropriate athletic teams.
Conferences
Attendance is required at the following: Orthopedic Grand Rounds (weekly), Sports Medicine Case Conferences (weekly), Sports Medicine Journal Club, and visiting Lectureships.
Research
Clinical research project is with submission for publication prior to completion of the Fellowship.

675-The fellow is responsible for patient care of participating physician in the sports medicine service, and supervision of Resident patient care.

125-Primarily Arthroscopic and open repair/reconstruction
Teaching Aids
Video programs and cadaver dissections. Sports Medicine and Lower Extremity Library. Fellow may develop personal slide library by photographing major surgical procedures. All equipment provided.
