Requirements for Acceptance to Training Program
M.D. degree, graduate from an approved Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program, completed Fellowship Application, letter of reference from the residency program Director, a Texas Medical License and CPR certification. Rotation
Office and Hospital
Specialty
Adult reconstructive surgery, primarily joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee. The fellow will articipate in a large volume of promary and revision cases, including that state of the art and investigational techniques. The fellowship will stress patient selection, pre-operative planning, surgical techniques and patient follow-up.

Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospital System: St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Texas Orthopedic Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, Orthopedic Research Laboratories, and the Foundation Speciality Hospital.
Conferences
Attendance is required for the following: Orthopedic Grand Rounds/Weekly, Orthopedic Journal Club/Weekly Adult Reconstruction Case Conference/Weekly, and visiting Lectureships.
Research
Clinical research project is required and participation in a laboraotory project is strongly encouraged.

Surgery Monthly
Approximately 40 joint replacement and adult reconstructive procedures per month
Teaching Aids
Video programs, cadever dissections, and a library. Computerized database software is available for clinical studies.
