JOE LEIGH SIMPSON, M.D. was guest lecturer for the Dru Carlson Memorial Symposium on Prenatal Diagnosis and Fetal Ultrasound, January 13-14 in Los Angeles. The Symposium was sponsored by the New York Academy of Medicine, Fetal Medicine Foundation of America and Kenneth Gottesfeld-Charles Hohler Memorial Foundation. He attended the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis International Society Board of Directors meeting in Belize on February 4. He was an invited participant at the Banbury Conference and presented “The Evolving Role of the Board Certified Medical Geneticist”. This conference was sponsored by the American College of Medical Geneticists. It was held in Cold Spring Harbor, New York, February 14. He was a site reviewer for the Laboratory of Clinical Genomics (Dr. Owen Rennert, Chief), National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Bethesda, Maryland, February 16-17. Finally, he was Distinguished Lecturer at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi, February 20.

IGNATIA B. VAN DEN VEYVER, M.D. presented at the Keystone Symposia: Epigenetics and Chromatin Remodeling in Development in Keystone, Colorado, January 19-24. The title of her poster presentation was “Refined mapping studies in biparental CHM and genome-wide screening for novel imprinted genes in androgenetic CHM”.
