Shaleen Botting, M.S., M.S., received her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Oregon in 1992. She then went on to obtain a M.S. in the Department of Chemistry, Division of Physical and Nuclear Chemistry, from Texas A&M University where she worked on advances in computational methods to study the various processes which involve electrons being scattered by or ejected from small molecules, specifically Auger resonance for the C1s 2pi* excitation of CO.
Ms. Botting then went on to complete her M.S. in Medical Science, Division of Pharmacology and Toxicology, from Texas A&M Systems Health Science Center, where she focused on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms governing the interaction between anxiety and drugs of abuse, specifically the chronic effects of ethanol on excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitter systems in brain.
Her current research focuses in understanding the mechanical and biological mechanisms that regulate tumor lymphangiogenesis and its prognostic significance for cervical cancer. With the goal of better understanding the various factors that lead to the development and function of the lymphvascular networks surrounding tumors in order to improve therapies and identify predictive markers.
